Are you ready to take your GED® exam in Illinois? The GED® exam is only given in person and not online. Typically to be able to take the GED® test the test taker must be over 17 years old. The GED® testing cost in the state of Illinois typically ranges from $40-$90.

The GED® exam covers five topics: reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Each part of the test awards a score between 200 and 800. Many states require students to receive a score of 410 on each of the five topics and an overall average of 450 for the GED® exam to pass.
