A data system is any centralized source (or interconnected sources) of data that is used for the instructional and/or operational needs of a school, district, or state, including student information systems. Data-driven decisionmaking (DDDM) is the practice of using data to inform instruction and policy. Resources in this section include innovative practices from the field and studies describing how schools have overcome common barriers relating to data.
