The Department has released a PowerPoint presentation on guiding principles and funding availability. The ARRA contains more than $100 billion in direct education funding for the next two fiscal years and $39 billion in bonding authority and tax credits. Click here for more information. -
Modifications to Questions in the April 2009 Guidance on the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund Program issued by the U.S. Department of Education on May 11, 2009
In this document the Department clearly states more than once that "the Department discourages the use of either Education Stabilization funds or Government Service funds for new construction. In addition, the extent to which a State uses Government Service Funds for new construction will be a consideration in making awards under the State Incentive "Race-to-the-Top Fund" competition."
